Fours / Quads
Janousek offers fours and quads in three hull shapes, the Janousek JS, Janousek JL and the Janousek JV. All shapes are constructed of a honeycomb sandwiched between layers of glass-fibre and carbon-fibre, cured at 120°C.
Janousek JL 4+/-/x
Longer than the Janousek VEB 4, Janousek JL mould is also narrower. The shell performs very well as a quadruple scull but requires more attention to balance and therefore more suited to more experienced crews for sweep rowing. This mould is available in coxed and coxless forms for crews ranging from 60-110kg.
The Janousek 4+/-/x Long hull has 11 hull sizes dependent upon crew weight. Each mould has a 5kg average crew weight allowance, which allows boats to be build more specifically, unlike many other boat builders.

Janousek JV 4-/+/x
The VEB shape is the best selling hull since it was first used in 1981. (The first production four is still in use at the original club it was supplied to on 30th April 1981!)
The JV four is slightly shorter and wider than the Janousek Long Mould, which makes it comfortable and easy to sit, and lends itself to being suitable for any standard of oarsman/woman. This shape has achieved widespread success at various championships, Henley Royal Regatta and national regattas.
In 1998 a new mould was made, which has improved the shape and finish of our boats. The canvases are now slightly ridged, instead of curved, which improves appearance and disperses and water on the canvases.
Janousek are proud to offer 11 different hull sizes for the VEB 4-/+/x, each size having a 5kg average crew weight allowance. This sizing provides much finer building of boats more specifically for crews.
